| CHANGES IN CARMEL
The flowerings are nothing. They are not there. Those blooms had bedecked a rather high deck in some nearby shopping area and indeed are gone. I used to trip over certain ones of them as I wended my ways toward many places. That those buds and blossoms no longer produce their multiple colors and odors should grieve me, and I'm grieved; not greatly am I grieved, though. I still recall the blooms well. That is almost enough. They shone, and the whole rest of the world apparently shone back. In them was beauty, and the town's streets continue to be full of a beauty as lovely and as able. Lest this appear too dirgelike, I must say, "Whoopee!" (Should I soon retract that?) We all say much about much. |

| Bruce, I don't think you need to retract anything at all. Flowers are beautiful and you are just showing your emotion going "Whoopee!", I say it myself from time to time. "Whoopie" as they used to call sex on the Newlywed game is another thing entirely. And then of course there's Whoopi as in Goldberg, don't know what she was thinking when she decided to call herself that. But I digress...Good piece. Your friend, David Fox

| Dear **David**: Large thanks for those praises toward language that cuddlingly grazes! The bull I contain might always complain were freedom not given to phrases. |
