I'd make you my wife
for the rest of my life
if I was free.

Nothing would matter.
Things would ever get better
between you and me.

If I would be there
I'd stroke your hair
and kiss your lips.

I know you'd seek
to stroke my cheek
with your fingertips.

I love you more
then ever before.
I never thought I could.

You gave him the sack
and to me you came back.
I never thought you would.

But you and me
live a fantasy
cause I'll never be free.

And so I suppose
we'll just have to be close,
as close as can be.

Mmmm - a poem about yearning for that which is impossible to attain satisfacotrily - I guess it is about those compromises we have to make in life. Jo x

Dear **Berry**: That nicely writ stating
craves little of further debating.
You seem to declare
a love rich and rare
quite checked by the process of mating.

Smile

A wistful poem, Berry.

Some wishes seem destined to live in Never Land unless some good fairy decides to tap her wand and make our wishes come true.

I enjoyed reading your poem.

Best,
Carol

Interesting poem Berry... it has a dreamlike quality to it.
