| SOME GHOSTS
Some ghosts continually or intermittently may haunt us. Those, of course, are certain and perhaps highly salient moments in our pasts. One primary such moment could be the actual set of moments popularly denominable "our first date." Now and really always very spectral, that moment could include a corsage, a dinner, and some sort of dancing? Ghastlily ghostly is my first date now -- even as that same date originally may have failed myriad and countless wonderful tests. The girl with whom I shared that same date had hair somewhat brunette. She had a stature not quite as tall as mine. Her general genialness hugely may have eclipsed mine. Together we beheld some part of the universe. I really and truly remember approximately nothing, in any regard, about that date. Might some form or forms of hypnotism or of mesmerism at all help me reach some large summoning up? The ghosts essentially are gone -- always utterly vanished -- , except insofar as we might somehow begin to imagine we may be in real kinds of touch. Life, which may be yet another failed sort of séance, might allow me to do some serious-seeming ranting? (Hmmm.) My first date was with a rather glorious and slender young woman. She must, I imagine, have cared about me at least minusculely in that she actually agreed to spend several bits and pieces of temporality with me. Actually, I doubt I presented her with any dinner or with any corsage. Rather, all that she and I ultimately then may have experienced, in terms of "take-and-give, give-and-take," must or may have been mutually and generally side-by-side attending of a then being performed high school play. I long since, incidentally, wouldn't have had even the remotest ghost of a clue as to what that play's title or essence might have been. |
