THE MOVIES
The movies that continue to be made
are fun examples of a sort of wish
to try to treat existence as a dish
of rich spumoni no-one soon would trade.
A movie seems to show no urge to fade
or ever to do aught but loudly swish
while countless eyeballs nearly squish and squish
as if to prove life's lust for perfect jade.
That motions on some cinematic screen
entirely prove no wonders and no hopes
may not negate the fact of sheen on sheen.
We daily may be fragrant cantaloupes
forever seeking ways to tend to lean
toward forms as glorious as certain soaps.

Dear **Scott**: That Petrarchan-ish 'style'
can (always?) be good for a smile.
Strong octave helps set
some stage for a bet
implying large spins that beguile.

Surprised
