LASSOING AN ELEPHANT
The beast's tusks shone.
The rope whirled and continuously rewhirled.
The toss was made; the rope settled.
The elephant soon reared,
and all its beauty veered.
That mighty animal had pleasant blinks
that had a look that formulated kinks
that would have shot all rope
and washed life's heart with soap.

Dear **Scott**: I might guess that my verses
need not quite entirely be curses.
That "elephant thing"
went ringy-ding-ding
and thus held three strings on ten purses.
