| Thanks a lot Doreen! This is another one in a series of poems about autumn that I've been recently working on!(sewing away at them!) I haven't picked up this theme in quite awhile so I guess I had some fresh ideas! Best, Carol |

| ] Autumn Wildflowers
The small patches of earth by the sides of the roads create a patchwork piece of a wildflower meadow
The golden yellow daisies are stitched together with purple asters that hold their threads up waiting for the needles of the air to sew together another row of stitches
Here and there small pieces of these wildflower colors burst through the blanket of dry brown earth and illuminate the roadsides like twisted pieces of ribbon embroidery
These yellow and purple sequins sparkle before my eyes as their facets turn and shine in the autumn sunlight and dapple through the shadows of the breeze
As I walk along this pathway, I am following these patches of autumn wildflowers as they sew me along with their purple stitches into a yellow patchwork meadow overflowing with quilts of dreams…
