Starry night, sang Don Mclean,
A very sad, thoughtful refrain.
So many stars in the sky,
It really makes me wonder why,
And we are so small, so insignificant,
Immenseness makes us less than an ant.
If I gaze up at night I see,
Galaxies to infinity.

Well I tried. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Starry Night

Watching the stars in the night sky
We sit beneath the sky so high

Look at the sky on this starry night
As the crescent moon shines, oh so bright

The crescent moon lights the sky above
Shining brightly on people in love.

The star so brightly they do shine
As they twinkle, you are mine

Above the town, away from crowds
See the dark swirling clouds.

Now there is sadness in the air
As there is darkness everywhere

Areas of gloominess now begin
As the clouds come rolling in

Yes the clouds are sad and dark
Rolling in fast over the park.

So on this dark starry night
Let us now walk towards the light

Some stellar bright facts that surround us
bid fair to amaze and astound us.
When caught by a lens,
such orbs are the hens
whose motions might seem to impound us.

When I look up at the stars
A thought comes to my mind,
I have to stop and wonder
Which one is God behind?

David,
You and I may have religious differences!
But I really liked your poetic simplicity here, so I wonder if you would be so kind as to choose a picture or even two for people to write about?

Bruce came a close second, but I know he is a busy man Wink

Hey no April fools now ..... Very Happy

Steve,
Thank you so much for your kind words and the honor, but since I haven't a scanner on this computer, and don't know how to create a jpeg file, I will let Bruce choose April's picture. I only enter these challenge for the fun of it, anyway.
Your friend,
David Fox

Dear **David, & others**: I lack
the skill to do much but (say) quack.
I'm hoping that someone
(>>some not very GLUM one???)
might issue our ~~APRIL bright snack~~!!!

Well here's a quick technology lesson, and no scanner required.

Open your browser (internet explorer) goto www.google.com

click on "images"

Type in a subject (for example "ducks" lol)

choose a picture, and then right click your mouse... thats the right hand button.

Then click "save image as"
Give it a name.... "ducks"

THEN....

Write a new message on poetic skies... click on the picture at the top of you post which consists of the little floppy disk and a picture frame.
Then click on file/browse, find the picture you have just saved...
Click the middle url... so it turns blue, copy it and paste it into your post.

click on preveiw to see that it's there, and presto...

Any problems ask Val, she posts loads Very Happy

OR....

just write a poem about ducks.

Mere ducks might fill bill-upon-bill,
since fowl of that sort can instill
enough waddling glory
to tell worlds a story
**olde Shakespeare** once fit in his **Will.**

One duck. two ducks, maybe more
On the pond they swim and quack
When they are looking out for food
they always go out in a pack.

One duck, two ducks, maybe more
swimming around all day
In the cold murky water
they swim and then go away
