Yes, more snow over night/early this morning, Jo.
We have been gritted, but only down the middle, so heaven help anyone meeting another car on their way up, the sides of the road are icy. I still haven't seen a bus.
It is sunny here & the ice/snow is begining to melt, but for how long!

Hope you can move out of the road soon, Val! It is much worse here this morning and probably is for you too. I am going to see a friend but will walk as it is safer.

Enjoy your warmth, Sunice- but i hope it stops raining for you soon!

We have had a lot of rain over the last two days, but it is very warm. I really feel for you all in the northern hemisphere.

More snow here too, though not as much as most of Britian. Poor anyone who is up North. Sad We has 4 inches yesterday, then more fell this morning, but not much.
The worst thing is, no gritters, so the roads are like skating rinks, as it freezes solid at night. We are on a bus route, no sign of buses for two days.
I have emailed our council to ask why they haven't sent the gritters up here. Surprised Shocked
They have kept the main roads open, which isn't helpful if you can't leave the road your house is in by car.
I need to go to the P.O, guess it's a walk for me tomorrow, providing we don't get a blizzard.

I am envying, Doreen, who hopefully is in Australia, my Daughter who is already in Australia with her Partner & Eunice in New Zealand.
Daughter says they have had a lot of rain in Sydney, but it's warm.
I emailed her pics of the snow here.

I think those in the north of the UK have had it worst of all, as where we are in the south west we have had a couple of centimetres. Howqever, it is extremely slippery and difficult to get out of our lane and i know other parts of the south west are having a very difficult time. Our vicar was diverted to Shannon (Ireland) because Heathrow is closed.

Hope things turn out better for you all up there soon, Karen! Scotland are even worse. affraid

I am envying Eunice at the moment!

We have had a pack of snow in the recent past but it's all gone now due to showers afterwards. The weatherman says we can expect a new coldfront and more snow and lots of it so I better brace myself. I just found out that dogs love to slide down a hill on their side. Then they run up the hill and do it again. It certainly beats chasing after a ball!

Emigrate to New Zealand, Karen. Then you can live in the north and miss the snow from afar. (and die of humidity).

Karen, If you are emigrating, I will come with you!

Yesterday the school closed as mains water is frozen up so there's no water for the school.

Today, Woke to more snow here and colder than ever! This is Lincolnshire.

Why have the winter's been getting worse these last few years? I can remember quite mild ones not so many years back. Wonder if it's a result of trying to stop global warming? If so, we'd better go back how we were.

Well.. emigration might be expensive... hibernation anyone?

To the members in warmer climes.. have you got a spare room.. Smile

Gilly

Hi All

The Uk is under the Big Freeze

How are you coping in your area

My area was hit so badly by snow, we couldnt eve
get off the drive for 2 days, hubby had to dig the car out
and on the front garden you could make an igloo

No bread or milk in shops

Main Post office has been shut for 4 days and no mail now for 5 days
was told the postmen cannot go out until it is more safe....so when is that
Spring!!!!

Workplace have closed here and there due to lack of staff

Why once again were we not prepared after we were warned

Apparently these are the winters to expect for at least 10 years now...

I think I will emigrate santa

Hope you are all safe and well
and coping with the extreme winter
