| ... O' dear, what a to do Longer than your average queue Is it that new telephone thing? Hardly, there is no-one to ring Waiting for the sale, to buy a new hat Doesn’t look like any need of that The Queen’s coronation on a TV set If you’re at the back, that’s not a good bet Perhaps the day the King came to town That is one high street he won’t get down What then is the point of it all? Val is selling from her boot stall ... _________________ Steve www.noaddress.co.uk

| Will we see the King, Daddy? Aren’t I tall up here? Can I stay on your shoulders? Is that him over there? They say the war is over Is it really true? What is a war, Daddy? Next time, can I come with you?
Hush child, hold your peace You know not what you say War was a horrid thing But now it’s gone away And, yes, we’ll see the King The Queen and Princesses too I’ll keep you on my shoulders But be good, for they’ll see you

| Both are excellent, Rose & Steve. When everyone has posted their poem, I'll chose the one nearest to what is actually happening. You can enter more than one poem. _________________ Regards Val |

| O M G I got up early to try and be first in the queue I have a list as long as my arm whatever can I do? Just where has everyone come from I know it is a sale they must have received their leaflet Also last week in the mail
They haven't even opened the doors And just look at all those folk I do know that money is tight But this is beyond a joke Next year I won't even bother I will order via the phone I won't come to the NEXT sale again I will just stay at home. _________________ |

| yes I always remember that day When Lloyd George came into town People had travelled far and near because he was so renown he didn't have to travel far for he also lives in Wales Yet he came and he delivered Such wonderful tales
The crowds silent and still did listen And people stood on building to see good job the rain kept off long enough for we were there till long after tea That Lloyd George was such a good orator Most folk so pleased he was in charge and guess what my father told me That he actually knew Lloyd George

| I'll give you all a clue, it was a Spring festival. Circa 1937, but it still happens today. _________________ Regards Val |

| I've sent you a pm, Doreen. I think it will be fine to post your picture, then judge it when you come back. I'm sure lots of people on here will be busy over the Christmas period so to leave the judging until mid January is OK by me. Unless Admin have objections to this that is? _________________ Regards Val |
