I'm not into scary movies, Guys. Unless you count Harry Potter. Smile I like Sci-Fi, so I guess the scariest I have ever seen was Alien & it's sequel.

Nobody replied? I find that very weird. My scariest movie is without a doubt The Thing. It is a masterpiece made by John Carpenter and the music is terrific. The scariest thing is that there is really no hope for anyone. No one trusts eachother and they know that eventually they will all die. They just try to put it off for as long as they possibly can. Then in the end when there is nobody left the two persons who survived and haven't changed in the thing know they will freeze to death but they're okay with that as long as they feel they are still human. Yes, the Thing, definitely!

PostSubject: Favorite Scary Movies, Please!   Sun Oct 31, 2010 1:05 am

In honor of Halloween, I'm curious to know what the lovely and talented Poetic members consider their own personal favorite scary movies. For me it's always been "The Exorcist." None of the three thousand imitations of it ever came close. Even just watching the tape of it on a small screen TV (which is how I've always seen it except once for some special occasion when it played here in town for Halloween one night on a movie screen) was scary as hell. (So was the book.) I've never been a fan of slasher movies--never once seen a "Friday the 13th" or "Halloween" movie (ten sequels apiece or something like that, weren't there?) And I've only seen one "Nightmare on Elm Street" movie. (Which was an accident.....I really MEANT to watch an opera that night. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.....And for that matter I've never seen a Clive Barker or Stephen King movie. (Or read their books.) I do like the old Frankenstein and Dracula movies but not because they're scary. More dramatic or atmospheric than scary. ANY road, enough of my silly wolf-blather. I'd love to hear some other favorite scary movies from all of you.
