| Moments
Yesterday when the birds sang Sunlight rippled over the water And we walked hand in hand The moment was important Not the past or the future Just now
A breeze gently ruffled your hair You looked down at me and smiled My eyes looked into yours Embracing the universe And even my fingertips tingled Yesterday
And now this moment I type these words And think of the past And the rain comes down
Across the fields the cows cluster Moving across the meadow In search of new pasture
The sun glimmers through a cloud Not a bad moment No comparison of course But still a moment to value.

| Sometimes we have to move reluctantly along this path of inevitability, where the here and now seems slightly harsher than memories we recall. But then cows in a meadow, its not so bad huh _________________ Steve www.noaddress.co.uk

| Thank you Steve and Doreen for reading and commenting on my poem and especially for latching on immediately to the main point. We have to be always grateful for what we have, which in my case is plenty with the wonderful view and our happy life, but other images from the past insist on crowding in at times too, as I am sure at times you find too.
