PostSubject: Stress   Thu Aug 05, 2010 7:06 pm

Anyone ever been responsible for organising a wedding (and no, the first line is just poetic licence - I'm definitely not a religious person)..?

Stress

Lord, grant this prayer,
That I might find
Some moment rare
Some peace of mind.

It's bad enough
To think I've got
All brain cells duff,
All nerve cells shot.

But now I see
The price to pay -
Insanity's
A step away.

Had I the choice
I'd like to change -
Falsetto voice!
It sounds quite strange.

It's just a sign
I'm not on track -
This brain of mine's
About to crack!

A parlous state -
I'm on the brink.
A horrid fate;
No power to think.

I'm done for, sunk;
I'm up the spout..!
... Oh no, I'm not...

I'm just stressed out!

Rowan I liked you humourous look at Stress and I think this is worthy of Poem of the Week. We have all been there and know just what you are talking about. I enjoyed this.

And then there will be the stress of the day itself Smile
at least you have your sense of humour to keep you going ....do you have to give a speech ?

In all likelihood.

Shall we just say that it will break no records on length..?!

Actually I wrote this one years ago in respect of an entirely different situation but it seems fairly relevant at the moment...

A very fitting poem. No doubt your sense of humour will see you through. I hope you enjoy the wedding after all that stress. Try to relax on the day, Rowan.
