| Dear Father who to us did give This wondrous world in which we live We give You thanks for every gift And joyfully our voices lift
We know that we have often strayed Have not each day Your will obeyed We still have poverty and strife And value not the gift of life
Help us Lord to follow You To Your teachings to be true In the days that lie ahead Let us by Your will be led
And as we go along our way Be beside us Lord we pray Let us in each thing we do Try our best to be like You ©Ian Russell

| Ian, I think this should be put to music. We surely do need guidance. |

| I think each man or woman must guide themselves Ian. Too many rely on words from above, and yet are deaf. _________________ Steve www.noaddress.co.uk

| Yes, this should definitely be set to music, but what kind? I don't detect any "dirge" quality in this hymn.....perhaps a marching quality or some kind of more optimistic or active quality? Something about this poem seems to give the impression of God being our friend besides our leader.....at least, this is what it said to me. |

| I Thank you all for your kind comments I wrote this with a tune in mind the tune is called "O waly waly " and is a standard hymn tune if anybody would like the music it apears in most of the older hymn books Once again can I say that I love you all and may God bless each and evrey one of you including our "agnostic and /or atheistic "friends Ian R. |
