PostSubject: APATHY   Mon Jul 26, 2010 6:05 pm

Each morning she observes a homeless man
Dressed in rags,
Cupping his breakfast to his mouth,
Sitting quietly in a doorway.

She wonders who his parents are,
How he got to this point,
Where he sleeps
And what he does all day.

She cares, but not enough
To do anything about it,
To question him,
Or invite him into her home.

If she cares for one,
She must care for all.
It is difficult to care for so many,
So she cares for none.
