Thanks, but I'm not really a gardener, Jo, I thought I should make an effort seeing as Mick was unable to though. We had a lot of wildflowers (weeds Very Happy ) as no weeding has been done except in the one raised bed I cleared for the veg I grew. The other three look like a wasteland. Very Happy
I have been watering the patio plants but those are nearly finishing now. I hope Mick will be well enough to get some Winter pansies & other Winter bedding plants, to make them pretty again soon.

It sounds as if you have done pretty well though Val. Well done! We have had black currants, are growing lettuces and tomatoes and also blueberries. That's about it. Next eyar I want someraised vegetable beds. Our neighbours have just moved and we have been given some wood to use, so hopefully Brian will do me a raised bed.

Reading Karen and Val's accounts has made me want to do more definitely next year.

I didn't have any more seed to sow, Karen. Never seen lettuce bolt so quickly either, never mind.

I managed to pick enough runner beans for us to have tomorrow for our evening meal. There are more growing too, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. Not sure what the sweet peppers are going to do though. Smile Toms look ok at present too, those are green & getting bigger.

Away to water the plants now.

Fantastic Karen! You obviously have very green fingers! Loved the photo of your harvest.
Brilliant. Hope you enjoyed the meal it provided.

and blackcurrants, I dont have a greenhouse anymore

Great to be able to make a meal from your own garden, Karen.
With OH unable to do much, we haven't bothered much with veg etc this year, but I did grow a few runner beans, nearly ready to pick, though not many of them grew, lettuces, those bolted while Daughter & I were away. I also planted sweet peppers, which are showing signs of peppers. The one remaining tomato plant in the greenhouse does have toms on it, not ripe yet though. Rhubarb is the only thing that looks good, but as it just grows all by itself, it doesn't really need much nurturing. Smile
The soft fruit, apart from one picking, has gone to the birds. Smile
As you can see I am more black fingered than green. Rolling Eyes Smile

Thank you, Jo. Yes, we did have a good mini holiday, I was annoyed at leaving my camera in the car, when we went to Winchester on the way to Sussex though. Lots of photo opportunities there wasted. Rolling Eyes Sad

Another of our patio plants. Taken the day before yesterday, they got a bit battered about in yesterdays awful weather.

Lovely photo's, Doreen. No I didn't know the Potato Vine, nor that the other very pretty plant was a Lily, but I'm glad the others did. Smile

Thanks for these Doreen. I think the potato flower is lovely. We actually have a flowering potato which doesn't have any potatoes, jsut an abuundance of flowers. It is a lovely climbing plant.

The other flower you have shown is a lily. They are really lovely, aren't they. There are so many different kinds.

Wow - just looked at this link again and am amazed and thrilled by the recent photos. Val your photos of the birds are lovely and Karen, fancy you being able to identify that little yellow flower from val- how exciting. It sounds to be a very useful plant - and has certainly travelled a long way. Perhaps it is particulalry good for birds with all its properties?

Eunice, all your previous gardens are really interesting. It is lovely to see your New Zealand gardens. You have certainly had a variety Are you covered in snow at the moment? How bad is your Winter this year? You say you have a small garden now - so do you tend to do a lot with pots? I think these small gardens can look fantastic. We went to the Hampton Court flower show this week - and the imagination with which they invested a small space was amazing.
