| I like some of Scott's poems very much. However I do not read them all because I try hard to read at least one by everyone who has posted everytime i go on the board and it would just take too long to go through all of Scott's. So: 1) I think that Scott would do himself a favour if he posted less as more people would read each poem he posted then. I can't think it is much fun when no people read some of your poems, which is what is ahppening to him now. 2) Other people are getting fed up because their poems are pushed too quickly down the board because of the heavy posting by one poster, so at times, in spite of excellent quality they may not be read. 3) Many of us bother to comment relevantly and personally on other people's poems, including Scott's, so a reciprocal personal response would be fantastic and also motivating.
I think you had to take a stand, Steve, which you have done. I hope also that Scott will take it on board and just reduce his posting and increase the quality of his responses to others.

| I feel a certain guilt about this as I have been one of those to complain. I wish to make it clear to Scott that in no sense do I wish him ill personally.
However, there is a limit to the extent that any site such as this can allow itself to be monopolised by one enthusiastic poster.
I'd like Scott to stay and be more selective about what he posts. Rightly or wrongly, people will always assume that quantity is a substitute for quality - I'm sure Scott is intelligent enough to realise that they will simply not bother reading his stuff if it's thrown at them en masse.
There is no reason why he can't be our most prolific poster - someone has to be top of the list - but can he not rein back his contrbutions to somewhere close to the rest of us..? |

| Well.. I hadn't been on the sire for a while, and when I did, I must admit it looked like someone's self appreciation site, and I had to scroll through to find the other members' poetry.
To be honest, I think it would be rather off-putting to anyone else who wanted to join the site.
So all I can say to Mr A is that you have to be fair, otherwise stick to your own site.

I am usually busy at W/E'd & by the time I can post an old poem, Sunday has gone. _________________ Regards Val |

| Well as Scott carries on regardless, totally oblivious to the general feeling, should we...
1. Simply reply "Good one Scott"? 2. Not reply at all ? 3. Chuck him out and remember how peaceful it used to be? 4. Wait for eternity for Scott to explain all

| Can I take this opportunity to remind users that by posting lots of poetry in a short space of time, they may annoy others by pushing their poetry further down the board on the main poetry forum
Members voted for a seven poems a week limit in order to discourage this. (This only applies to the poetry and sunday re-post threads)
As an experiment I have turned off the automatic pruning in the poetry forum, this means that poems will not be deleted after 60 days as previously, and should remain on the board. I will monitor the situation.
Thankyou. Steve _________________ Steve www.noaddress.co.uk

| Classing myself in the normal category, an assumption I know ! I would take a slight hint that my poetry had not been acknowledged to its full capacity, however if I were posting my lifes work, meagre as it may be, perhaps I would not notice the lack of interaction.. Therin lay the conundrum. Quantity versus quality, so I have cast my vote.
Steve who only publishes rubbish once or twice a week, and expects the silence of debate to remain a good one, Riggs. _________________ Steve www.noaddress.co.uk

| Is there a need by any chance for a limit of, say, 3 or 4 postings per week by any one contributor to the poetry forum..?
Do you know... I have no idea at all why that thought should suddenly have sprung to mind...
