The winner of March 2010 Picture Challenge is:

*~*Doreen's winning entry can be read below:*~*

A stupid Tea Party

First I saw a hare and Hatter
At a table under the large tree
Then I saw the sleepy dormouse
They sat at one corner, all three.
No room here, they all cried
I see loads of room I shouted
So I went and just sat down
Of course the March hare pouted.

Have you any wine I asked
We have none, they all said
Plenty of tea for you to drink
And too much hair on your head.
I was asked many stupid things
And they all were very rude
The dormouse talked in his sleep
And there wasn’t any food.

The March hare had a funny watch
I even told him so
It didn’t even tell the time
But told horoscopes you know.
All three kept telling jokes
The answers I didn’t know
But they just went on and on
I just felt daft and slow.

Well I can sing the dormouse said
But he just rapped all the time
It just went on and on
The ridiculous to the sublime
Well I was getting very cold
I told them I must go
For it is March in England you see
And I know it's going to snow.

I then started to walk away
For dormouse had fallen asleep
Hatter and Hare put him in the tea pot
For it was warm and deep
What a really stupid tea party
The worst one of my life
So I just walked out on them
To much stress and strife.

The winner of March 2010 Monthly Challenge is:

*~* Rowan's winning entry can be read below:*~*

Back Garden

The mid-May breeze blows bee-hum optimism
Through the Solomon's Seal.
Sunwarming Admirals taxi along
Fence-top runways to perform fluttering
Fan dances with trembling Tortoiseshells.

Spring blasts its perfumed fanfare through
Border snapdragons and wall-bound honeysuckle
Into the antiseptic, billowed
Whirligig washing.

Nature's metronome accelerates.

Under-eave nesting mud dries fast
In the sun and wind as
Flitting martins come and go.
Lawn-hopping blackbirds chase the worm
In parental fret,
One eye to the mortal peril...

.... But the black-and-white, afternoon cat
Sleeps on, outstretched and oblivious,
In back doorstep, tailtwitch dreams
Of past and future mice.
