emitted a loud cry. All the monkeys droped to the ground and ran to him, sitting around him expectantly. As Barbary drew breath tospeal, a huge shadow fell over them all. As one they looked up and to their amazement saw.....

the ground shook, and the large footprints in the sand filledwith water. The monkeys shivered in dispbelief and then ran screaming into the trees. Sippet appeared back over the hill with the Chief adult, Barbary. Barbary instantly.....

A large head pierced the air out of the waters while the waves bubbled around it and then withdrew as if even they were afraid of this beast. AS the water withdrew, the boat was suddenly just standing on the bneach but it was dwarfed by a slippery beast with feet on the end of its fins. it lumbered forward and with each step ......

...under the sea. The sea began boiling and bubbling. All the monkey started jumoping up and down and screeching. The adult monkeys appeared over the hill . Meanwhile the boat drew closer, and a shape began to emerge from the sea....

That the ship was full of zebras. Now zebras are not known for their strategic skills and intelligence, so she was just wondering if she should send another message back to the adults when she heard a low throbbing noise coming from.....

Pippin led the others to the trees. When she saw the ships approach she sent Skippit to tell the adults bcause he was the fastest mover with his sideliong skipping movements. However, as they drew nearer she saw to her amazement.......

...gather up all the poisonous spiders and venomous snakes we can find before the MEN get here. Pippin, you want to play a game, so you and the other youngsters can play in the trees by the coast, and watch for the ship. When you know where it is going to land, come quickly to tell us, and we will place the spiders and snakes there ....

"Men," he said in a deep sonorous voice," have a tendency to want to take over. They will love the island and want to live here. They will make a clearing to build, chopping down the trees where we live. They will have long sticks from whcih fire comes straight at us and they will kill us."

"I see," said Pippin, the youngest monkey, in a high squeaky vioce." So no more playing leap across trees any more then."
"Shut up stupid," said his brother Jacko.
"No more anything," said Sneaky Monkey glumly. "What shall we do?"
"I think we should just play as much as we can while we can," said Pippin jumping up and down.

"Shut up Stupid," said Jacko again, giving his brother a push.

Jonas looked at them all, his wise eyes full of love and compassion for this tribe of monkeys.
"Obviously what we must do," he said, "is....

...why do we have to run away? Are these men so terrible that we cannot fight them?"
The other monkeys stared at him until he blushed, thinking that he had said something awful.
Then, one of the old and wise white haired monkeys spoke ....

everyone began to talk at once. The head of the group banged on an old tin box and gradually the clamour died away.
" Alright"," he said in an authoritative voice. "We had all better go to our home trees and prepare to move out. Does anyone have any questions for Jonus before we go?"
A monkey in the corner raised his hand. "I would like to ask........

"In one week from the day I arrived, there will be a ship of danger - carrying MEN who wish to capture us and take us away. You have been warned, and now you must prepare to flee or fight"
The other monkeys stared at each other, not knowing what to say.
Then ...

..."My name is Jonus, and I have come to you from the other side of the Island. It has taken me twenty days to reach you. I have a warning for all the monkeys on this Island. The Lord Chief Monkey has sent a message to warn of an approaching danger. It is this,.........

collapsed, exhausted. The other monkeys fanned him and gave him sips of water when he started to come round. He gradually got his breath back, and tried to speak. When he did he said ....

what had caused the disturbance. An old, tired looking monkey was picking himself up off the ground, having fallen over a pile of old tins stacked near the door. Sneaky Monkey peered over the shoulder of the monkey in front. The old monkey made his way on unsteady feet toward the group and...........

"Don't be afraid little money, we are friends, and any friend of my beautiful girl is welcome here." he was invited to the main tent and he ate at their table. he sat near the beautiful girl monekey and he was so happy. But then there was a commotion outside the tent and all the monkey present went outside to see ...............................

stumbles and falls at her feet. All the other monkeys laugh. Sneaky monkey gets up feeling very foolish. One monkey, who appears to be the leader of the group, steps forward and says,"......

a family group of monkeys, who surround sneeaky monkey. So he stands in the middle of the group with his paws over his eyes. But then the beautiful girl monkey appears again and walks right up to him. she holds out her paws and touches sneaky money on the should and as e turns to look at her he .....................................

he finds himself staring into the eyes of the most beautiful girl monkey he has ever seen. She stands there for a moment and then turns and runs off into the trees and disappears.
Sneaky monkey tries to follow but finds himself entangled in the undergrowth. There is no sign of her. Suddenly there appears.......

.... an orangatang jumped out. He hurled Sneaky Monkey across the neach and went forward to grab the boat. Sneaky Monkey was breathing heavily, severely winded by the fall. He took a deep breath and scrambled to his feet, but to his amazement ....

and sneaky monkey decided he can no longer stay o board the boat and jumps out. As he does he realized he is very near a little island He paddled quickly there but got a big schock when he arrived as ....................................

drifts further from the shore.
"Help, help!" yells Sneaky, but the others just leave him to it.
Suddenly Sneaky realises that the boat is taking on water. He finds an old tin in the bottom of the boat and begins frantically bailing. The water rises faster and....

takes no heed what so ever. He continues steering the boat but all of a sudden in the middle of nowhere the boat engine dies and the boat

Sneaky Monkey falls into the water. He quickly scramble into the boat and starts the motor. The monkey owner shouts at him to turn it off, but Sneaky Monkey.....

Sneaky Monkey who is leaping from tree to tree having a nose at what is ging on. The branch he is holding onto snaps, crashes into another tree and .....

Sits down rubbing his head. This doesn't last long, however, as he starts laughing with the other monkey. All of a sudden there is a loud crash because of...
