Just the same as us Karen. Over the Christms period Hull royal Infirmary was on red alert. Over 300 people had fallen and abot 180 had surgery It is that bad. No paths are being gritted at all.Side roads are terrible but main roads are not to bad.

Take care Karen :UV Doreenxxx

We have had beautiful weather for the last few days. Quite hot today. Everyone is going to the beach or pool and having barbecues. I hope it keeps up for a while now.

We had a snow free weekend BUT because we had really bad icy snow last week andd it was very cold there are lots of icy patches still around Very bad for walking.

My husband walked to local shop yesterday and had to walk on the road because it was so slippery, but he got pipped at by inconsiderate drivers.

We are due snow next week so once again our roads and paths will be bad, especially if the first lot has not gone. Ads the saying goes "It will be snow on snow" Yes surly iis Bleak MId Winter

It has been mild here in East Devon, so we have been lucky. We often wake up to an extensive frost, and the terrace outside is slippery, but so far no snow. Funnily enough though just about 5 miles away they had snow the other day, with the inevitable chaos ensuing, I gather. We often escape it because we are near the coast I suppose.

I think all the UK is due some this coming week though.... I hope it is not too bad up north Karen and Doreen as I think you have been faring worse up there. And how are things for you Margaret?

What a disappointment the weather during Christmas was! The first time in 25 years and than it comes too soon. We had lovely snow but by the time it was Christmas a thaw had set in and everything had changed into dirty icy patches and on the second day of Christmas it had all practically disappeared although in the north of the country it still seemed all nice an white. Oh well, just my luck to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope some of you guys have had better luck. Enjoy yourself.

No snow in South West Devon, Carol, but we rarely do get any here with the Gulf Stream. It was very icy early a.m. though, now it has thawed & is mild. I hope it doesn't freeze tonight, we have had light rain on & off all afternoon.

Yes, we do have snow in New Mexico! At least in the northern part of the state. It's a high desert climate. We're at an altitude of 7000 ft. or 2133 meters, so it's more like a mountain climate.

The storms tend to be fast and intense, but usually don't linger. We had another snowstorm today which means more shoveling!

I just watched some weather reports for Europe and I see that you're having some heavy weather over there. Sorry to hear about it.

Many areas of the U.S. are also having big weather problems and they're cancelling flights, etc.

Well, I guess it's still the season to tell ourselves to be jolly....!

Good heavens, I didn't realise you got snow in New Mexico, Carol.

It rained here today & got milder, ice was melting, but the weather forecaster tonight says roads will freeze tomorrow & to watch out for ice, the rain has washed all the salt & grit away. Of course they haven't been sent out to re-grit. Of course not! Shocked Evil or Very Mad

Here in the Land of Enchantment (the publicity name for the state of New Mexico!) we had a snowstorm blow in last night. There's two hour delays for schools and workers. It gives people time to shovel out because the city of Santa Fe doesn't own any snow plows! We just wait for the sun to come back out and melt everything away!
The land of maƱana!

My Brother & S-in-Law went back to North Yorkshire yesterday, Karen, from Cornwall. Just as well by the sound of it. They had no problems on the roads going back up country, it is mostly M/way all the way.

Although the sun is out, the wind is cool. This is the coldest summer I have ever experienced as far as I can remember. There are a lot of clouds about.
I keep needing a cardigan, which is unusual for this time of year. We are usually hot and running the dehumidifier. Not our usual summer at all.

We have had vast amounts of snow and children are having the time of their lives. Ith snow is so thick that it comes up to my ankles. Driving a car is dangerous because of all the iice everywhere. The trams and buses aren't driving anymore. Public transport is completely paralyzed. I see snowmen everywhere. Big fellows say they feel like 10 years old again while they are rolling a snowball in an effort to make a bigger snowman then the neighbours. Valerie had an appointment with the mouth hygenist but she had to cancel as there was no transport at all. I just enjoy the scenery. Everyone seems to be in a good mood all of a sudden. Snow does that to a lot of people. It's been over 25 years since we had so much snow. We are definitely gonna have a white christmas. It was snowing tonight as well.

We only had a small amount of snow, which melted, then the wet ground froze again, it's very icy & the pavements & some minor roads are very slippery.
We have had alternate rain & then freezing again. Tonight also it had been raining & it will freeze tomorrow early a.m. I am glad I don't have to go anywhere.

The garden of my late Mum's bungalow on 19th.

Our pond this morning.

The fish don't know what's going on, they keep coming up to check why they suddenly have a solid roof. Smile We don't usually get freezing weather here.

Karen,
Snow here too, on Long Island, NY. The roads have been ployed but sidewalks and lawns look a mess.
