| Steve, a coincidence is that I have my own computer cat Though she tends to wreck it instead Then curls up innocently on the bed Your Amber looks a little minx My Opal is a bit of a jinx My speakers don't work any more Since she knocked them on the floor Amber looked quite familiar Her and Opal's markings are similar It would be beyond coincidence If you have a Riley inside your fence? |

| I had to go last night as my friend arrived so I didn't get to say...... Margaret I love your horse poem, is/was he yours? He is gorgeous. I liked the other entries too, Rowan centipeeds are amazing animals. Thank you Rose & Steve. Sadly Floyd is no longer here. I am not really a cat person but I did love him, even though he wasn't ours, next door adopted him when he came straying. One of the most cuddly of cats I have ever met. _________________ Regards Val |

| Urban Outlaw
Brown eyes flare golden In rushing headlights, then Vanish into roadside thicket.
The night's business is begun. Stealthy arrogance appears on the back lawn, With a sniffing of night stocks, A probing of geranium beds.
Wary.
Impatience outweighs caution As milk-filled bowl draws quivering nose, The claiming of the prize anxiously pursued By frenzied, furtive lapping.
Discovery?
Impending arrival of rightful owner Spurs the thief onward Over fence and through hedge - Opportunism on the prowl.
Restless.
Pause here, pause there. Paws on the ground, nose in the air. Ears pricked for instant flight...
... the backyard raider is out tonight.

| When the cheetah goes in flight to chase after some poor deer you almost cry out: "Oh dear!" because it's such a horrible sight.
But the cheetah has to eat just because she runs so fast and I'm sure she wouldn't last if she couldn't grab hold of some meat.
She has her cubs to take care of while she hopes for some lucky day when hard earned food comes her way while there's still lions to beware of.
When she's finally got her prey she is panting and so frail. If a lion picks up her trail he'll just come and take it away.
Then her cubs are still in danger. They are paralysed with fear as the lion comes so near. It means death, this hostile stranger.
So she yaps and lures him away. She may pay with her own life. All this trouble, all this strife! It just goes like this each day.
Every day she'll look for prey. She goes through a lot of bother. She's a good and caring mother and I really want to say:
For her endless dedication, for her courage and her grace we just simply have to face that's she's worth our admiration. |

| I admire, and am a great fan of cats of all sizes Berry, well done to spotlight the Cheetah. They are beautiful, yet have a hard life. |

| Red foxes
Foxes have long bushy tails With fur that is reddy brown Pointed black ears, a wide snout And are seen outside the town.
They mainly are seen in the evening When the light is dim and grey The lovely family of foxes Will come out to romp and play.
They love to hunt, yet are so shy Related to the dog are they Eat small mammal, mice and rabbits And farm chicken, if they get in the way
They have good parents who really care And if humans do not torment Red foxes do not cause much trouble As babies are independent
Some people do call them a menace But like big dogs, best if left alone Yet they do not bark, they howl And like to be on their own.

| They do look really cute, it's easy to forget they are wild animals, when you see them they can sniff chickens out easily, when they do, they will return every night until they can get at them. And, now, they go into dustbins, too Such clever animals!
