PostSubject: One-minute (and 4 seconds) Mystery   Thu Jul 01, 2010 8:32 pm

It was a very small room in a very large house. The house was full and the room was empty--almost. The room had exactly one door and exactly zero windows. True, there was a trapdoor in the floor, but that was locked with a padlock, and the only key had recently been lost in a coal mine disaster. True, there was another trapdoor on the ceiling, but that too was locked with a padlock, and the only key had recently been lost in an oil rig explosion. Over the door was a transom, but that was also locked with a padlock. That padlock had been made by Sarah Palin, and she'd forgotten to make the key for it. And now the plot thickens. For, lying there on the floor of the small room, in a puddle of his own entrails, lay kindly mass-murdering Doctor Chargealot. He had multiple stab wounds and a few minor boo-boos. Now, I care not a whit Whodunnit. My question is: HOW was the feat accomplished?

Dear **Kevin**: That mystery hangs
on multiple special Gol'Dangs.
I'm happily eager
to stay very meager
while trimming each phrase's Fresh Bangs.

Most people I'ved posed this silly riddle to, seem to think that since I never once mentioned that the MAIN door was locked, that the nefarious murderer (whoever he or she was) must have just waltzed right in. But MY preferred solution is that a very small caterpillar with very large switch-blades crawled UNDER the door. And I'll have to re-read my story, because I suddenly seem to have a sinking feeling that I FORGOT to mention anything about very small caterpillars with very large switch-blades..........

Dear **Kevin**: I gladly proclaim
that none of your telling craves shame.
Most crawling bright creatures
possess the right features
to play perfect parts in life's game!!!!

Reminds me of that old mystery, how did the man escape from his secure prison cell when all there was in the room was a table.

He rubbed his hands together until they were sore, he used the saw to cut the table in half. Two halves make a whole, he crawled out through the hole. Once outside he shouted until his voice was hoarse, jumped on the horse and rode away.
