PostSubject: D-DAY: THE SOLDIER'S SORROW   Tue Feb 09, 2010 12:41 am

Blood flowed in little streams
Young soldiers give up dreams
Everyone is full of fright
There is sobbing in the night
Guns exploding here and there
The smell of death is in the air
Innocent people being shot
Give up now? He thinks not!
Parts of bodies washed ashore
Causing sorrow more and more
Fighting the way to Omaha Beach
It seems too far to ever reach
The frightful roar of D-Day
Kids are shot as they play
Families give up brothers, fathers, and friends
To go to Europe, the war to end.

I have always thought that war is a hideous curse. Why should young men have to die just because old men want to fight each other?

Scott,
War is awful and should never have to happen. Good poem.
Your friend,

You ask all the right questins here. When does it achieve anything? Why can't those in charge just open their hearts and sit round a table to work things out.
