December is here already, so let us get in a festive mood

Write a new and catchy christmas tune, look to the pictures
for inspiration

Two to choose from this month to wet your appetite

or

if you feel really creative you can choose both pictures

Enjoy

Merry Christmas santa

PostSubject: Christmas Eve   Tue Dec 01, 2009 10:32 pm

I have written a poem about the first picture but actually I have used an old tune. When Santa got stuck up the chimney.

Christmas Eve

When Santa arrived it was snowing
As reindeer bells did ring
The snow did fall
It was so dark
As church choirs began to sing

The fire was hot
The stockings were bare
He had presents in his sack

When Santa delivered his presents
He left a great big stack

To the tune of

WHEN SANTA GOT STUCK UP THE CHIMNEY

Doreen E Hampshire

Saint Nicholas came to my door
and spoke of fine gifties galore.
I mentioned a chimney
more spacious than Bimini
and ready to welcome a roar.

I love you

PostSubject: SANTA ON CHRISTMAS EVE   Mon Dec 07, 2009 4:12 am

SANTA ON CHRISTMAS EVE

Santa comes on christmas eve
To all good boys and girls I believe
A tree trimmed with pretty things
And music playing and angels sing

A fire burning with warm bright flames
Someone speaking beautiful names
Food and drinks brought in by some elves
Now I don't mind if I help myself

Children sleeping in their warm soft beds
As visions of sugarplums dance in their heads
The surprise on their faces when they awake
Memories to capture as they eat turkey dinner and christmas cake

Presents wrapped up with much care and love
Ribbons and bows and paper printed with two white doves
A glorious day but the most important thing I must not forget to mention
It could not be possible without GOD so HE sends HIS blessings

PostSubject: THE MEANING OF THE SEASON   Mon Dec 07, 2009 4:27 am

THE MEANING OF THE SEASON

The meaning of the season isn't presents and just fun
It takes us back to when CHRIST 'S LIFE HAD BEGUN
HE was born on this most blessed of eves
When the star in Bethlehem had followers believe

Three wise men followed the star that night
Some didn't go as they were filled with fright
It was a joyous time to behold
The baby JESUS was born I've been told

The baby JESUS would grow up to be king
HIS presence made all the angels and mankind sing
HE taught the word of HS father to many
HE only wants you to serve HIM love HIM a plenty

GOD as HE'S named is loving caring and kind
HE'LL never leave you stranded or left behind
HE only wants you to worship HIM and love HIM
HE'LL watch over you care for you until the end

Across the towns and villages
Darkly the night does lie
Frantically folk rush around as
Quickly the hours pass by
Houses and trees are all aglow
Bedecked with festive light
Excited children try to sleep
For Santa comes tonight

With his magic sleigh and reindeer
He hovers up above
Then gathers up the parcels and
Delivers them with love
Thrilled children wake their parents up
Before new morning’s birth
And Santa’s still delivering
Around the rest of earth

(to O Little Town of Bethlehem)
