| Spring may be in the air at last (in the northern hemisphere), so I would like a poem about new life, the interaction between flowers and insects, birds hatching eggs, animals waking from hibernation, frog spawn, life cycle of butterflies..... Lets see how varied we can be |

| The month of march
March came in puffing and blowing Bringing the true advent of Spring. Our feathered friends greeted it with song Rooks, what a noise they bring. Yet it is all part and parcel of March With it’s violins of Spring. The cock robin sings so sweetly Close to his hen, she was making him sing. Our English countryside is beautiful As February sparkled and smiled it’s way out. While birds are chittering and chattering Spring has really sprung, without a doubt.

| Rarity of Spring
Buds await the honeybee A spring buzz is in the air Yet last year was a tragedy For honeybees were rare
Flowers waiting with indignation Captive to insect pollination Reliant on this pro-creation Of evolution’s innovation
Buds await the honeybee Yet apparently, lots have died Has science set the genie free Genetically modified
Flowers shimmer as rainbow jewels Companies followed all the rules Science marvels at it’s tools Unleashed upon, a world of fools

| MARCH NEW BEGINNINGS
The season of spring starts out by the hatching of new baby birds. The sound of their little peeps is so soothing and beautiful. Soft feathers of white and yellow. Before long they will leave the nest to fend for themselves.
Summer is not far away. The time for insects to make their appearance. Buzzing bees, fruitful flies, bulging beetles, and many other insects make their debut. Slinky spiders, waking wasps in their yellow jackets have an array of brithly lit coats.
Toads on ponds leap in search of a mate. Croaking to attract the opposite sex.
Flowers sprout with the first sign of rain and sun. Drenched with droplets of water, the buds bloom with many colors of white, yellow, pink, purple, orange, green and blended colors. Their fragrance and aroma fill the air with gorgeous scents.
Sunshine sends it's warm rays of bright solar intensity to the earth. A beautiful scene of life of all forms.

| From dormant soil appears green shoots, tender in their status below the earth a magical time arouses the dynamics of birth
Green man takes over as the Sun God awakens warming each passing day
Skies turn a brighter shade of blue birds remember the dawn chorus as if rehearsed for centuries nest building begins in earnest as the first perfect eggs are warmed
Green man takes over as the Sun God awakens warming each passing day
Rivers and ponds ripple with excitement temperature turned up just a notch frogs play leap frog mating game batch after batch of frog spawn with tiny black eyes collects under a blanket of algae
Green man takes over as the Sun God awakens warming each passing day
Behind the garden shed from under the wood pile comes a familiar rustling snout appears to smell the air hibernation now over the hedgehogs stir wakening the woodlice and ladybirds
Green man takes over as the Sun God awakens warming each passing day Mother Nature shows her colours Spring comes alive and the cycle begins once more

| Gosh, Karen and Margaret have covered every subject very skilfully, though I didn't mean to make it quite that hard... They were just examples of things you might like to write about, now you must think me a hard taskmaster. I'll stand in the corner with the pointy hat on till wednesday |

| Spring in a new garden
Last year at this time This garden was not mine I had no way of knowing If spring shoots would be growing In a plot that is mostly bare Daffodil leaves show here and there A little more sun, a few less showers I hope to see soon, some golden flowers And when next spring comes around I’ll have planted more bulbs in the ground Snowdrops, hyacinth, tulips, anemone Will become a picture, made by me |

| This was actually written for when Spring's fully sprung, but what the hell...
Back Garden
The mid-May breeze blows bee-hum optimism Through the Solomon's Seal. Sunwarming Admirals taxi along Fence-top runways to perform fluttering Fan dances with trembling Tortoiseshells.
Spring blasts its perfumed fanfare through Border snapdragons and wall-bound honeysuckle Into the antiseptic, billowed Whirligig washing.
Nature's metronome accelerates.
Under-eave nesting mud dries fast In the sun and wind as Flitting martins come and go. Lawn-hopping blackbirds chase the worm In parental fret, One eye to the mortal peril...
.... But the black-and-white, afternoon cat Sleeps on, outstretched and oblivious, In back doorstep, tailtwitch dreams Of past and future mice.

| Well now. By default I should hand the baton to Karen and Margaret, as they covered all elements..... Rose came in late, but I think Rowan has to choose, mainly because I like Cats, and wit. So Rowan.... you have the black spot... blind pew |
