PostSubject: Update 2   Wed Jun 30, 2010 9:34 pm

Hello everyone! I have really had a battle going on and I have not been winning many skirmishes. Unfortunately, my body just was refusing to heal. After some tests it was discovered I am pre-diabetic. At least it is "pre" which means I have a good chance of avoiding diabetes entirely. I just must get on a good healthy eating and weight reduction plan. In the meantime, the medicine was changed for the two wounds and things are slowly beginning to heal. I see my primary care physician on the 6th to discuss the pre-diabetes and decide what measures need to be taken.
I'm hoping by then the wounds will be healed or at least almost healed.
I am positive thinking and refuse to be mired down by those things that ail me. My knee, through all of this, has been wonderful!!!

There is saying here in the states I just love, and it seems appropriate right now...."Getting old is not for sissies!" God bless and I hope all of you are in the bloom of good health!!!

Update: Another 10 day of super antibiotics! Boo! Hoo! I don't do real well with them, but that's another story. So don't expect new posts anytime soon, unless I fool myself.

Thank you all for your kind and thoughtful comments and good wishes!

PostSubject: Thank You   Sat Jun 19, 2010 8:43 pm

I want to thank everyone who posted. You are all so kind and thoughtful. This is why I like this site so much.

Steve deleted the comments because this is supposed to be a comment-less blog site according to the decisions of those responsible. I have no complaint with this but I am glad you got to sneak in your comments. I enjoyed reading them.

Over the years, I have come to think of you as friends, even though I'm on a different continent from most of you. I pray you are all doing well, healthy, happy and prosperous. Kisses and hugs to all.Lorrie's Corner

PostSubject: Lorrie's Corner   Thu Jun 17, 2010 9:46 pm

Just so you all know. The knee surgery was put on hold because I did very well with therapy. That is the good news.

The bad news....well, I elected to have a mole removed because it was in an awkward place and kept getting scratched. The wound became infected and I am now fighting MRSA. Basically, this is a staph infection resistant to methicillin drugs. Sometimes called the flesh eating disease, it now has many different type of drugs to treat it. I have been on one course and will know if I need another med on Monday. For those of you who believe in prayer, please put me on your list. Although, I know this can be cured, since people still do die from this, I can't help but worry a bit. I'll just be so happy when it is healed and done! Things like this make you appreciate your life so much more. So far, my fibro has not acted up and the arthritis seems to be fine for the moment. I am grateful because I would rather my mind and body be concentrated on the healing process for this wound!

Thank you for your good thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, once through this my writing inspiration will return and I'll be posting between walks and healthful diet to keep my life in some sort of control. lol

Love to you all, and keep the great writing coming.
