Epitaph

Among most men there's a great desire
to be loved for what they are.
To be seen as someone special
if not exactly a star.

This need comes from a very deep place
within them hard to find.
Yet still it's there, you'll make no mistake,
unless you are quite blind.

Their need to be loved and cherished
by everyone in the room,
began its life at an early age
perhaps even in the womb.

And as …

AHA!

AHA!
Tardy guessing hit the proverbial
nail. Several people must have
known whom to blame. The puzzle
had had three parts. The second
part pointed a finger as length-y
as some version of reality.
Nothing truly was a quantity
that could be isolated. Slow birds
flew. The sky turned green.

IN TRIM

IN TRIM
Trimming a mustache makes
the several parts and sides
appear likely to seem small.
After several cuttings are
accomplished by fingers as
adroit as three skylights
and four fatigued operas,
some new articulation must
be in abrupt evidence.
Hair that is anywhere
thus may consider
its own angularities.

Stargazing

Stargazing.

On terra firma, we search wide and far
For tell tale signs, of some distant planets
Watching, and waiting, as light from a star
Slowly fades, as worlds complete their transits
Planets revolve around another Sun
Science looks for the light differential
Always to wonder, if this is the one
Whereupon life, would prove quintessential

And if such a world can be detected
Mankind advances, …

The Green Fields Of France

The Green Fields of France

Dreams and memories buried deep in mud
bodies piled on high, covered in blood
promises made, but never kept
children who played, while women wept.

Is this the great legacy of the 'great' war?
That so many died in one drawn out roar?
Was there anything else that it achieved,
apart from counting millions who were bereaved?

A moonscape created here on Earth
a land full …

INTO THE BROOCH

INTO THE BROOCH
Armaments hastily are creating ways
via which mere hatred can foster.
One such avenue is this medium-sized
brooch. Some fine cannon ejected the
entirety. The facets now glisten. They
show a quite usual shade of desire tinged
by some ticklish cat's lunar walk
toward a fridge filled with beverages
like the cunning answers to much.
Matronly guesses possess strong flavor.
Sybaritic …

MEATY!

MEATY!
Some succulent and perfect little ham
sat down and started singing little tunes
that surely never gave one proper damn
about the ways the cosmos breeds balloons.
That hammy figure twisted his toupee
and nearly showed a sign of real success
but also glimmered in a manner way
too likely to produce quite sappy stress.
The end result was one of those routines
wherein a ham is almost fricasseed

A Childs Eyes

A Childs Eyes

When I was a child,
the world was a strange and wonderful place.
Somewhere that magical things happened
and everyone had a smiling face.

When I was a child
with my family around,
I knew both contentment and love.
Material things mattered not to us then,
only the light that shone from above.

When I was a child
with my parents to guide,
I learned to see right from wrong.
And …

A SUMMER DAY'S BREEZE
Sun Jan 22, 2012 6:49 pm by antropolis
That desired one, a familiar face to him, a relief,
Her presence is a hot summer day's breeze--
With her plump, scarlet, affectionate heart she is a motherly, cautious, bear
Soft and sensitive to any touch, it is also the cub.
So candy sweet and innocent,
But fastidiously demanding and excessively satisfied.
And in his sights he sees her into intriguing mien
With her creamy white limestone skin
